Job Description
At Christus Health, we are proud to have a team of skilled nurses who care for patients on our 40-bed Inpatient Telemetry Unit. This unit specializes in caring for patients with serious heart and brain conditions like stroke, heart failure, dialysis, and post-cardiac catheterization.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be part of a team that provides patient-centered care. This means you will work to ensure that each patient’s needs are met while they recover. You will be helping both young adults and older patients by providing the care they need to feel better and improve their health. The hospital is known for its Gold Stroke Recognition, meaning we are experts in helping patients recover from strokes.

Tier Plan Options
We offer four different PRN Tier Plans to give you more flexibility with your schedule:
- Tier 1: Base rate based on your experience. You must work 3 shifts within a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 2: Earn $40 per hour when you work 6 shifts within a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 3: Earn $45 per hour when you work 12 shifts within a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 4: Earn $50 per hour when you work 18 shifts within a 6-week schedule.
You can choose the Tier Plan that best fits your availability and needs. The more shifts you work, the higher the hourly rate!
What You Will Do
As a Registered Nurse in the Stroke Heart Failure Unit, your main job is to care for patients who have serious heart and brain conditions. You will be responsible for:
- Monitoring patient vitals and making sure they are safe and comfortable.
- Helping to create care plans for each patient, focusing on their needs.
- Communicating with doctors, other nurses, and family members about the patient’s progress.
- Educating patients about how to care for themselves after leaving the hospital.
- Following hospital rules and procedures to make sure all patients get the best care.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) License – You must have an active RN license in Texas.
- Experience – While previous experience in heart and stroke care is helpful, it’s not required. We will provide training.
- Strong Communication Skills – You must be able to talk clearly with doctors, patients, and other team members.
- Team Player – This is a team environment, so working well with others is important.
