What You Will Do in This Job

As an In-Home Caregiver at Comfort Keepers, your main responsibilities will include:

• Providing Personal Care: Helping clients with daily tasks like bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Assisting with Meals: Preparing and serving meals to ensure clients are eating healthy, balanced foods.
• Light Housekeeping: Helping with cleaning and tidying up to keep the home safe and comfortable.
• Offering Companionship: Spending time with clients, chatting with them, and keeping them company to help prevent loneliness.
• Helping with Mobility: Assisting clients with moving around their home safely, whether it’s getting out of bed or walking to the kitchen.
• Providing Medication Reminders: Reminding clients to take their medications as prescribed.
• Keeping Clients Safe: Ensuring clients are safe in their home by watching for any potential hazards and reporting any changes in their health.

Skills and Qualifications We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, we are looking for candidates who have the following:

• A Valid Driver’s License: You must have a driver’s license to travel between client homes if needed.
• Compassionate and Caring Nature: You should be a person who cares about others and is patient and kind.
• Reliability: We need caregivers who show up on time and can be trusted to care for clients.
• Experience in Caregiving: Previous experience as a caregiver is helpful, but not required. We provide paid training to help you learn the skills you need.
• High School Diploma or GED: A high school diploma or GED is usually required for this job.
• Ability to Lift and Move Clients Safely: You may need to assist clients with light physical tasks, so being able to lift and move people safely is important.
• Good Communication Skills: You should be able to talk clearly with clients and report back to supervisors about any changes in a client’s condition.
